Bangers and Mash with Stout Gravy – Hearty, Savory & Comforting!

Ingredients

  • 4 pork sausages
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup stout beer
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil potatoes until tender, then drain and mash with milk and butter.
  2. In a skillet, brown the sausages on medium heat until cooked through.
  3. Remove sausages and add onions to the skillet; cook until softened.
  4. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir well.
  5. Gradually add beef broth and stout beer, stirring until thickened.
  6. Add Worcestershire sauce and return sausages to the skillet; simmer.
  7. Serve sausages over mashed potatoes and top with gravy.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a darker stout beer.
  • Feel free to add garlic or herbs to the gravy for additional flavor.
