- 4 pork sausages
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup stout beer
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a large pot, boil potatoes until tender, then drain and mash with milk and butter.
- In a skillet, brown the sausages on medium heat until cooked through.
- Remove sausages and add onions to the skillet; cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and stir well.
- Gradually add beef broth and stout beer, stirring until thickened.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and return sausages to the skillet; simmer.
- Serve sausages over mashed potatoes and top with gravy.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a darker stout beer.
- Feel free to add garlic or herbs to the gravy for additional flavor.
