Black Forest Cupcakes are a delightful treat that combines rich chocolate and sweet cherries for the perfect dessert experience.

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla, then mix until combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped cherries.
  5. Pour the batter into the liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let them cool completely before frosting.
