Caramelized Onion Pasta with Chilli Oil

A delicious pasta dish featuring sweet caramelized onions and spicy chilli oil for a bold flavor.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta of your choice
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt, cook until the onions are caramelized.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  4. Once the pasta is done, reserve some pasta water, and drain the rest.
  5. Add the pasta to the caramelized onions, mixing well. If it’s dry, add a bit of reserved pasta water.
  6. Stir in the red pepper flakes, and mix to combine.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the chili oil amount based on your heat preference.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
