  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, applesauce, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, then sprinkle with half of the cinnamon swirl mixture. Top with the remaining batter and swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before removing from the pan and slicing.

Notes

  • For a sweeter bread, add more chocolate chips.
