- 2 pounds boneless lamb shoulder
- 1 pound beef chuck
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 8 pita breads
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a food processor, combine lamb, beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, and cayenne. Pulse until well combined.
- Add olive oil and water to the meat mixture, and pulse again until everything is fully incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, pressing down firmly.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.
