Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta is a classic Italian dessert that’s creamy, smooth, and surprisingly easy to make at home. Perfect for entertaining or a sweet treat after dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium until sugar is dissolved.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  3. Remove the cream mixture from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin and vanilla extract until fully dissolved.
  4. Pour the mixture into individual molds or cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, until set.
  5. Once set, carefully unmold the Panna Cotta and serve with your choice of toppings, like fresh berries or a berry sauce.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, consider infusing the cream with zest from citrus fruits or herbs before adding the gelatin.
  • Make sure to allow enough time for the Panna Cotta to set in the refrigerator.
