  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together sugar and butter until creamy. Add in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, then mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice together until smooth and spread it over the batter.
  7. Top with the remaining batter and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely before serving.
