- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2–4 red chili peppers, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.
- Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Add chopped chili peppers and minced garlic, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before storing.
Notes
- This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one month.
- Adjust the heat by adding more or fewer chili peppers.
