Sweet Chili Sauce

A delightful homemade sweet chili sauce perfect for dipping and drizzling.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 24 red chili peppers, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.
  3. Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.
  4. Add chopped chili peppers and minced garlic, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool before storing.

Notes

  • This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one month.
  • Adjust the heat by adding more or fewer chili peppers.
